do you have to invest any money, at all? Up front or later on?

Post 3 by NoahsMommy (guide dog girl) on Wednesday, 01-Feb-2012 10:50:38

No, not at all some offers say pay this amount but you can totally ignore those and just do the free ones, that's what I do! I mostly do the ones that say give us an email address or sign up for this or that list or whatever, I have 2 emails 1 I never check so its great for that!

How long did it take you to get $50?

Post 6 by NoahsMommy (guide dog girl) on Friday, 24-Feb-2012 8:05:15

about 5 days to a week.

Post 7 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Friday, 24-Feb-2012 16:10:55

Hm. That's ten bucks a day or less.
That's around a dollar a day if you put in a full day's work.
My grandfather earned more than that at $3 a day back in the 1920s.

I'm pretty sure this isn't meant to be a full time thing. Most of these things even specifically say they're not going to pay your bills for you. it's more a pocket change sort of deal. I used to write articles for which I did get paid, real money, that I subsequently spent on real things, but again, it's great if you need money to buy a nice meal out or something like that, but it's not going to put the food on your table or pay your bills, unless of course you don't have to pay bills and you eat like a bird. Lol.

Yeah, its meant as an extra kinda thing, and I made 50 dollars in like 5 days working at it maybe an hour a day or so. You just have to make sure you fulfillt he requirements of each offer so it credits. If you do, they credit you get money, its pretty simple.

cool, I will have to check it out! Extra money is never a bad thing! :)

these sites are never meant to be a real income, but the effort required and the amount of sheer spam they generate isn't worth the money you *might* earn from doing so.

I can't understand why anyone would scoff at the idea of making so much money for doing so little. Even at $50 a week, that's $200 a month! It's not like it takes you a month to earn $2 or something, as with these e-mail things where you get a few cents per click.

How do taxes work? Do they give you a 1099 and whatnot? Also, what kinds of offers, in general, are available?

Post 14 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Tuesday, 20-Mar-2012 6:07:25

I don't think it's scoffing at anything tif. If people want to do it, that's their lookout really. All I'm saying is A, the offers are unlikely to keep going at that kind of rate (they are usually targeted at new members in order to gain yet more traffic to their site) and B, these sites generate an awful lot of spam because where they make their money is by selling your details to other companies. I wouldn't personally do it, but if that's your thing then no-one is going to say it's wrong.

In terms of tax that would be your own responsibility to declare that income to the revenue. And if you're in receipt of any kind of state benefits you might want to check that those wouldn't be compromised by receiving additional money for doing something like this.

Well, there's always the option of creating an Email address just for that, so if you start to get bombarded with ads, at least you can just close up shop, and your main Email will be unaffected. what turned me off to this site, honestly, was that they need to know your address. Yeah, I know. that's how they pay you. But what about PayPal? I thought just about everyone used that, now. and the last time I gave one of these sites my address, I had junk Email coming in by the dozen within a few weeks.

Post 16 by sugarbaby (The voice of reason) on Tuesday, 20-Mar-2012 18:15:10

I think the best way to make money is by setting up a site like that one and attracting users then selling on their names and addresses to other companies. :D.and

Seriously though, no way I would give my address to some online company - as you say, the spam email is one thing, actual junk mail is something else altogether.

Post 17 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Tuesday, 20-Mar-2012 21:32:39

Oops. Correction: I meant to write junkmail; not junk Email.

Post 18 by NoahsMommy (guide dog girl) on Monday, 26-Mar-2012 0:18:16

I haven't received any junk mail at all. Just saying.

I unfortunately would have to agree with Sugar Baby on this one. I joined, and eventually left, a similar site, called cash crate several years ago, due to that very thing. They had all these offers, promising free laptops, gift cards for large amounts of money, and the like, only for you to have to fill out 3 different types of offers in order to get them, which turned into products you had to try and later cancel, which I got myself into more of a mess over because one of them billed me before they were supposed to, then lied to me about it, to make a long story short.
Then I also had that wonderful experience mentioned, where when trying to sign up for these 3rd-party sites, they not only didn't pay me, but my e-mail got given out, and I somehow managed to be signed up without my knowledge to 3 other 3rd-party sites who wanted to charge me for this and that, that I had to get info for, after quickly doing google searches for to find out who they were, and finding their contact info.
